Spending time at the Ballard Locks is always fun…watching the boats going into the locks, the lovely flowers in the spring and summer and the paths alongside the locks. The fish ladder is interesting and watching for seals popping up now and again is always exciting.
The Ballard Locks is one of my favorite places. Aside from strolling around the area and watching the boats go into the locks or hunting for that occasional seal, sitting and relaxing on one of the hills is truly delightful. There are days when the hills are filled with people. Its much fun in early spring to sit there and watch the herons tending to their newly hatched chicks.
